December 2009 General Meeting
With the holiday season in full force and a Winter Weather Advisory in effect, the December meeting of the TIA was a lightly attended. TIA business was discussed, including the Treasurer's report and the plans for the TIA in 2010.
Anne Alexeff provided information on the financial status of the TIA. The TIA is financially sound.
Currently, the TIA has about 45 members.
The TIA library was discussed. The concensus was to stop acquiring new printed material and to discontinue the subscription to Inventors Digest. Portions of the library will be brought to the meetings and made available to members who wish to have the material.
Martin Skinnner discussed the progress of his Koil Kaddy. He has retained a company, Millennium Marketing Group, Ltd., to market his patented coiled hose holder. Martin has some samples of the Koil Kaddy for sale.
Ken Murrell discussed his plans for moving his inventions forward. He has a method for treating solid organic waste. When combined with fly ash, such as the waste material produced by TVA, the output of his method produces a sterile soil.
Ken also discussed his patent, Number 4,567,690. His invention of a cultivation structure for growing plants was before its time. The patent, issued in 1986, is expired.
Tom Kulaga discussed plans for the coming year. Keith Waters earlier made a suggestion to Tom about picking an invention and having the TIA take it from conception through commercialization. The idea was well received.
